I’m considering installing some solar motion-detector lights on the rear side of my home, over a side driveway with a seldom-used back door.

What other inexpensive security upgrades can you think of? I’m pondering installing an auxiliary metal barrier for the door, kind of a like a giant door-stopper made of steel.

Motion detecting lights don’t work very well for us. Too many deer, elk and the neighbor’s dog that would set them off all the time. We do have security screen doors that came with the house. Probably not the cheapest add on though.
