My varied work and leisure activities require several different equipment setups. I recently lost some weight which will make AIWB carry a more comfortable option so I am considering switching to this method. Currently I mostly carry IWB at 8 o’clock (I’m left handed) with a Concealment Express holster. I also often pocket carry with an Alabama Holster.
I carry AIWB as close to my centerline as possible. I’ve been designing a new holster so it’s been a little bit of adjustments here and there but my goal is to create a comfortable center-line holster that allows easy indexing for the drawstroke. That said, I live in Florida now so wearing my jeans is a rare occasion. When I do, I carry my .357 revolver in an ankle holster as my get-off-me gun. If shorts, I have my Ruger .380 in my back pocket as a backup.
I’m curious to see how many folks carry a backup firearm. I already feel that my pockets are overflowing without one. I do always carry a knife and pepper gel as well as a spare mag.
I have the advantage of living in a very low crime area and my carry pistols have been completely reliable so haven’t felt the need. The only higher crime area I usually find myself in is when working in SoCal where unfortunately I am not allowed to carry any firearms:(
