Everyone who carries concealed eventually ends up with a "box of holsters" -- gear they never use. What's an example of a holster you bought, but could never make work?
Mine was a hybrid leather and Kydex IWB "tuckable" holster that I could just never quite make work, for a compact .45. Something about it just felt too huge and awkward and I could never make it really concealed with my shirt tucked over it.

I have a few holsters that just didn’t work out. The most recent one I purchased being the worse. An OWB kydex where instead of the pistol clicking into place like with all the other kydex holsters I own you have to wedge the pistol into the holster and hope you get it snug enough not to fall out but not so snug you can’t pull it out quickly when you need to.
That’s like the Kydex equivalent of an Uncle Mikes, the kind of holster that’s just a Nylon sock with a snap to retain it. Too many people rely on those types of holsters!
Yeah the holster I bought was supposed to be model specific but the pistol I bought it for has undergone some minor changes over the years and I think they tried to make one holster that would work for them all. Bought a new one from another manufacturer that works perfectly.
I have about 2 or 3 Alien Gear holsters that I don’t use (one I got for free to review for our channel, but I didn’t like it). They were the first ones I bought when I got my concealed carry license in TX but I’ve found others worked better for me. Currently, I use a prototype that I was developing for our own brand and like it the best. Still not ready for market yet though.
Funny how personal preference plays, and the amount of holster a person ends up with. For OWB I love the BlackHawk kydex SERPA. IWB I went with Remora, a sticky holster reinforced so I can pretty much adjust it anywhere I want it. Works great for drawing and reholstering, for me that is. Plus side I can use it between my council and passenger seat while driving, and as a pocket holster if needed too. So to each his own I guess. Stat safe out there.
