Sniper Training For Survivalists: Why Every Prepper Needs Long Range Shooting Training

Sniper Training For Survivalists: Why Every Prepper Needs Long Range Shooting Training

What do you think of when I say the word, “sniper”?

If you’re like most people, you get that mental image of a soldier covered in a camouflage “ghillie suit” ready to pull the trigger on an enemy combatant…

…A tactical SWAT marksman ready to end a hostage-taker’s stand-off…

…Or a clandestine spy positioned in a window, about to completely disrupt some country’s political system with a single bullet.

But while YOU may not be some state-sponsored covert assassin, have you ever thought about why you SHOULD consider becoming a “sniper”?

If that makes you scratch your head a little, then let me share with you…

5 Reasons Why Every Survivalist Needs “Sniper Training” To Be Prepared…

Sniper Training For Survivalists: Why Every Prepper Needs Long Range Shooting Training
Sniper Training For Survivalists: Why Every Prepper Needs Long Range Shooting Training

1. Intelligence Gathering

As they say, “knowledge is power”, right?

Well, sniper tactics are as much about doing reconnaissance to gain valuable intel on an “enemy” as they are about precision shooting.

A sniper can’t pull the trigger on just anything that comes into his crosshairs.

90% of the job is being able to detect, identify, and confirm targets, and developing these skills will make you far more aware during times when danger is around you and most people don’t even know it.

2. Survival Hunting

In any kind of “collapse”, food shortages will hit within the very first few days.

It’s a fact.

That means you’re going to have to find food for you and your family – and you’re only going to get 1 shot at that deer, rabbit, or squirrel that’s 300 ft away in that corn field.

You better make it count… or you’ll go hungry like the rest.

3. “Next Level” Marksmanship

At long ranges, every little mistake makes a BIG difference in how close your bullet hits to where you were aiming.
Sight picture… breathing… trigger squeeze… follow-through…

The training required to become “super-accurate” as a sniper can help you fine-tune ALL of your shooting skills – no matter whether it’s a shotgun, rifle, or even a pistol!

4. Stealth & Concealment

A sniper’s success doesn’t just rely on his (or her) accuracy.

You have to be “sneaky”.

You have to be able to creep into an optimal position without being detected… become “invisible” in any surroundings (even urban areas)… and be able to haul ass out of a “hot zone” without leaving a trail.

Hmmmm… sounds like just the kinda skills that could prove helpful for escape & evasion when the sh*t has hit the fan and the “wolves” of our society are prowling around for helpless victims to prey on, eh?

5. SHTF Defense

If worse ever DOES come to worse, you know that your family’s defense is going to entirely be up to YOU… and ONLY you!

Being able to hunker down in a safe location – and STAY safe – is going to require you to have someone standing watch 24/7 should some sneaky bastard start looking around for his (or their) next victims.

It’s always best to assume that the “enemy” is armed… and in ANY firefight confrontation, distance is your friend.

Being able to engage an enemy (foreign or domestic) from 500-800 yards away will help ensure your own survival… and force them to find their loot elsewhere (if they’re lucky enough to leave).

So hopefully this was all you needed to convince you that this type of training really IS useful for survival purposes.

So now, “what’s next?”, right?

How To Get Started As A “Survival Sniper”…

1. You’re gonna need a weapon. Sniper rifles can get pretty expensive and if you ever go to a gun show, you’ll see them all the way up to about $15,000 or so.

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sure my dog would have my side of the bed on a permanent basis if I ever dropped that much on a rifle.

The sneaky trick used at these gun shows is to make the rifle “look” like a badass military weapon with a lot of inexpensive add-ons. In other words, they’re selling the “look” so you feel like you’re the next American Sniper.

I recommend (and have) a Remington 700 .308 caliber bolt-action rifle.

These come super accurate and reliable right out of the box and I’ve used it for hunting as well as long-range shooting.

Another option is an AR platform in .308 because it’s a familiar “feel” and deployment as a standard AR-15.

(Note: More on your gun in a few seconds…)

2. Next, you’re gonna need a good scope. These can also run you a ton-o-dough, but it’s a very critical factor in sniping so the more can spend on it, the better… but don’t go overboard.

I recommend a “FIXED variable” scope for long-range shooting.

An “adjustable variable” scope is one where you can adjust the sight picture very tight, which actually changes the power of the scope.

This allows you to get a very fine-tuned sight picture at varying distances, if you want it to.

However, a “fixed variable” scope has a fixed magnification so the power of the sight picture doesn’t change.

That means you don’t have to mess around dialing in the precise magnification when you’re trying to engage multiple targets… and for defense and survival purposes, that can mean the difference between getting a shot – or not!

3. Finally, before you go attaching all kinds of whiz-bang gizmos to your rifle, you’re gonna want to get in some “super accuracy training”.

Don’t worry… there’s no need to shell out a few thousand dollars for some “tactical sniper school”.

One of the best training programs out there for dialing in “super accuracy” with a rifle is through “Project Appleseed” (

This is a national non-profit “marksmanship heritage” group of volunteers using a standardized set of special skills for training youth and adults in how to achieve superior accuracy with a rifle – just like the American colonists who out-shot and defeated the British forces back in 1775.

I’ve attended their courses and put all my sons through it as well, and I can’t say enough about the professionalism of this group and all of the volunteer instructors who help keep this patriotic skillset alive and well.

And the best part? The training is free!

Of course they’re not going to give you actual “sniper training” because that’s not what they’re about, but it’ll lay a strong foundation for what you need to take things to the next level.

Then There’s Your Gun…

A buddy of mine is well-known in the firearms industry for showing patriotic survivalists how to easily build “underground guns”.

You can get his FREE DVD here for just the cost of shipping it to you.

Untraceable guns like this are often called “ghost guns” because they use a little-known “invisibility loophole” that doesn’t require them to be registered with the government like other firearms.

Trust me, this is important…

You see, if there ever was ANY kind of crisis that triggered civil unrest on a grand scale, it’s a very real threat that the government (federal or local) could impose a mandatory “gun confiscation” program to take peoples’ guns.

Yes, I know this might sound like paranoia, but it’s already happened during scenarios like Hurricane Katrina.

And I mean, just watch the news…

Personally, I think we’re scary close to seeing more and more violent protests in the near future as we become further divided as a nation!

Are you seeing it too?

And with more mass-shootings and more gun-hating politicians taking office, anyone who is serious about their 2nd Amendment rights should be VERY afraid of the possibility of a knock on the door by a uniformed soldier with a clipboard, asking you to hand over your guns for the “greater good of the community” during a violent crisis.

So why take the chance?

Get equipped… get trained… and get prepared while you can.

The WORST Advice For Good Preppers & Survivalists

The Worst Advice For Good Preppers & Survivalists

Back in the “old days’ of the Internet, they used to tell you NEVER to use your real name for security purposes.

Back then, simple scams were everywhere.

But we’ve come a long way (mostly) since people were trusting enough to send money online to made-up Nigerian princes… right?

People may be a lot more “Internet savvy” when they use their phones or laptops these days…

…But in the survival/prepping community, a whole LOT Of them are still making a MAJOR mistake.

And that mistake, well… it’s the sort of thing that separates the real survivors from the ones who are just pretending – even if they don’t realize it!

Doing This Makes People “Fantasy Preppers”

The Worst Advice For Good Preppers & Survivalists
The Worst Advice For Good Preppers & Survivalists

See, I’m old enough to remember the early days of the Internet, when it was kind of a “Wild West” out there in terms of the information available.

You could find just about anything you wanted on Internet bulletin boards…

…and some of it was even true.

But while most of us have gotten a lot smarter about who we trust online, and who we give our information to…

…some of us are STILL falling for a new type of scam.

Instead of taking people’s money and not sending them anything, THESE scams are selling false security, giving people information that doesn’t work and that the seller doesn’t care about.

See, some people in the survival/prepping/self-defense communities are still taking advice from just anybody on the Internet.

They go on YouTube, look up a video, and believe what some tiny channel with no followers (and no clue) tells them.

They find a random post by “MallNinja12345” (I made that up) on Reddit, and they think it must be true because it sounds plausible.

Basically, they treat the Internet like a Ouja Board, asking just any old random person to give them advice on life-and-death matters of survival.

And that, Amigo, is the absolute WORST advice there is.

It treats survival like fantasy – and playing at being a prepper will get you hurt or killed when something real happens.

(You know, like a world-ending, economy-destroying pandemic?)

Now, I know you’re not going to stop looking at survival information on the Internet, and I wouldn’t want you to.

But if you’re going to be able to tell fact from fiction, if you want some clue as to whether a source should be trusted, you have to have a good background in multiple survival topics.

That means you have another problem:

HOW do you study “all of survival and self-defense” overnight?

Well, I found a deal that provides you with an “instant library” of solid survival and self-defense information.

With just one click, YOU can have this entire library at your disposal… which will help give you the background you need to make informed decisions about the “Internet survival info” you see.

You can learn more about everything contained in the instant library (and get access to them) here.

Just don’t put this off until later, okay?

These offers get taken down periodically, so you don’t want to miss out.

Watch your backs out there, and online… and don’t send any bitcoins or gift cards to imaginary royalty, okay?

Shameless Looters! What They Did In This 89 Y.O. Woman’s Home Will P*ss You Off…

Home Looting Hurricane Harvey

89 y.o. Michelle Poche had trouble getting around so she insisted on ignoring the evacuation order to stay in her home when Hurricane Harvey hit her local area.

Her neighbors stayed behind as well.

Their goal was to protect their home and also be there for the elderly Michelle if she needed anything.

After the storm and flooding, one of the neighbors waded through the waters to go check on her.

What did they find?

The senior citizen had drowned… with her phone after just dialing 911.

But that wasn’t all they discovered, and…

Most People Aren’t Prepared For What Neighbors Found Waiting In This 89 y.o. Woman’s Home…

Home Looting Hurricane Harvey
What’s The Best Way To Defeat Looters After A Disaster?

Of course, “death” is as bad an ending as you can get to this heart-wrenching story.

Especially given all the rioting and looting we’re seeing now, I thought this story was worth recounting.

An elderly woman… all alone… watching the waters slowly rise in her home.. desperately dialing for help that will never come!

But there’s a deeper, more disgusting element to this story that offers a valuable lesson in what to expect in the after-effects of any kind of disaster or crisis…

You see, her entire home had been ransacked by looters who took whatever valuables they could find while the dead body of the 89 y.o. woman floated right next to them in 4 ft. of water!

Having personally seen the direct results of disaster 2 years ago (where we lost 12 men, women, and children when a 50’ wall of water flooded our little town in the early morning hours), I can tell you there are 3 things you can count on

1. Neighbors will “try” to help neighbors.

Most people really DO have the best of intentions.

Sadly though, when it comes to life-or-death decisions, it’s “everyone for themselves”.

It’s best to pull together and face a crisis as a “team” – but you can’t count on it.

2. Looters!

They have no morals… no fear… and their only goal is to take advantage of the “sheep” of our society during hard times.

If you appear weak, they will target you.

Dead or alive.

With law enforcement taking part in rescue missions, there will be no rule of law to hold them accountable.

3. Everyone can FAIL you!

Your 911 call will go unanswered… or fall on deaf ears.

98% of your fellow citizens will be unprepared for even the smallest disaster.

During catastrophic scenarios, first-responders will be forced to do the best they can to rescue those who are trapped in cars… attics… on top of homes…

… and for many – like for 89 y.o. Michelle Poche – help will come too late.

Bottom line is this…

During ANY disaster or crisis, the only one who can look out for you… is YOU!

Not your neighbors… not the police… not the government.

When it’s life-and-death, it’s a dog-eat-dog world and it’s YOUR eyes your loved ones will be looking into for saving.

Unfortunately, most people (even experienced “preppers”) don’t understand the right way to set up your survival plan based on real-world scenarios.

There’s frankly too much “fantasy survival” crap littering the internet and steering people in the wrong direction.

Make sure you’re not falling for all the “zombie survival b.s.” when putting together your plan, and just take it one step at a time.

You’ll get there. 🙂

Survival Gear / Bug Out Bag Mistake: Don’t Let Pride Make You “Burt Gummer!”

Prepping Operational Security: The Survivalist Burt Gummer Mistake
Jeff Anderson
Jeff Anderson, Editor

“The night of the fight, you may feel a slight sting. That’s pride f-ing with you. F-k pride. Pride only hurts, it never helps.”

Those were the words of the character Marsellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction.

He’s basically telling Bruce Willis’ character to throw a boxing match – and his argument is that the punishment for refusing is much, much worse than the pain of losing.

Well, Pulp Fiction is just a movie… but when I rewatched it not long ago, it reminded me of… survival conventions!

“Wait… what!?” you’re probably thinking.

Well, I’ll explain… because that quote about pride f-ing with you can teach us something really important about your “operational security”.

Operational Security For Preppers: Don’t Let Pride Make You Burt Gummer

Prepping Operational Security: The Survivalist Burt Gummer Mistake
Prepping Operational Security: The Survivalist Burt Gummer Mistake

I’ve been going to survival and prepper conventions for a long time, now.

They’re a lot of fun… but I gotta say, it always amuses me to be surrounded by “Burt Gummers.”

Burt Gummer, if you don’t know, is a character from the Tremors movie franchise.

(Man, I’m practically Blockbuster Video today… which is still a thing, right? Right??)

He’s kind of a running gag because everything about him is impossibly tactical.

Prepping Operational Security: The Survivalist Burt Gummer Mistake
Prepping Operational Security: The Survivalist Burt Gummer Mistake

Everything he does, says, and wears is all about paramilitary jargon and gear.

He talks like he’s on a military operation no matter what he’s doing.

He dresses like a 5.11 catalog exploded in his bedroom.

And of course, he’s armed all day long, and loves to talk about guns.

As much as I love to meet and talk with my fellow preppers and survivalists, a LOT of them are so proud of their dedication to prepping that they walk and talk just like this… completely blowing their “operational security”!

In other words, you can spot them coming from a mile away.

It’s like they can’t turn it off… and I guarantee that everybody they know is completely aware that they’re all about being prepared.

“Why’s that bad, Jeff?” you might be asking.

Well, like I’ve said before, the last thing you want to do is let the people around you know that you’re prepared.

In an emergency – especially a collapse or survival situation that lasts for a long time – these people are going to show up at your door, begging for you to help them.

They’ll ask at first.

Then they’ll beg.

Finally, they’ll demand… and they won’t take “no” for an answer!

Now, if you’re thinking that this isn’t a problem for you, because you don’t dress or act that way, that’s good.

But I have to ask… is your Bug-out Bag (your BOB) going to give you away?

Even discreet folks will buy what they think is the best BOB for their survival kits – and often, that’s a military-style bag covered in tactical accessories that is a dead giveaway to anyone looking.

In other words, the pride you have in that tactical bag could punish you much, much worse than sucking up your pride and going with a less “tactical” looking option!

In an emergency or collapse, if you’re bugging out with one of those bags over your shoulder, people are going to spot you – and they’ll know that you have things they desperately need.

As proud as we all are of who we are and what we do, the “you’ll pry my gun out of my cold dead fingers” approach will end just like that.

“You’ll pry my MREs out of my cold dead fingers” will have the same result!

Predators, your desperate neighbors, gangs looking to supply up… even the authorities will be happy to oblige you if the alternative to robbing YOU is watching their families starve.

See, your BOB, and the supplies in it, aren’t just going to keep you and your family alive at home… they’re also the ONLY thing that will keep you alive if you’re forced to evacuate.

Understanding ideas like this – and preparing the smart, covert way (rather than the Burt Gummer way) is just the beginning of truly preparing to keep your family safe in an emergency.

This is a tip like the ones you’ll find in my survival gear secrets report, which you can see right here…

Don’t let pride make you a “Burt Gummer” (and therefore a target).

Get the tips and tricks that can keep you and your family safe… while you stay prepared.

Recession-Proof? How (And WHY) The Rich “1%” Are Prepping For Collapse

How The "1%" Are Prepping and Preparing For Collapse, Recession, and Civil Unrest

Now I admit, I’m not the smartest guy in the world when it comes to things like building a gazillion-dollar business or buying up giant skyscrapers so I can rub elbows with the “Donald Trumps” and “Bill Gates” of the world.

I’m not a “1%-er” like those guys.

But I figure they must have done SOMETHING right to get to that level of success, don’t you agree?

And if you and I knew exactly what they know… and did exactly what they did… then of course it makes sense that we could ALSO achieve the same results, right?

Well guess what muchacho

Society’s “mega-rich” are all talking behind the scenes about an upcoming “collapse”…

…and they’re spending big duckies on making sure they and their families will be fully protected while the REST of us are left to feed on each other in a desperate war over basic necessities to say alive!

Don’t believe it?

Check Out How The “1%” Are Prepping For COLLAPSE (And How You Can Steal Their Best Tactics)

How The "1%" Are Prepping and Preparing For Collapse, Recession, and Civil Unrest
How The “1%” Are Prepping and Preparing For Collapse, Recession, and Civil Unrest

You’ve heard all the talk about recession coming in the news lately, right?

Well, not too long ago, Jonathon Johnson, the Board Chairman of (a company with over $1.5 billion in annual revenue and 1,500 employees), gave a talk at a precious metals conference about the company’s insights into where the economy is going and what they’re doing about it.

(Spoiler Alert: The outlook is NOT good!)

Here are some highlights from his speech and what you can do to follow their lead on preparing for what lies ahead…

“We are not big fans of Wall Street and we don’t trust them. We foresaw the [2008] financial crisis. We don’t trust the banks still and we foresee that with QE3, and QE4 and QE ‘N’ that at some point there is going to be ANOTHER significant financial crisis.

We expect that when there is a financial crisis there will be a banking holiday. I don’t know if it will be 2 days, or 2 weeks, or 2 months.”

What That Means For You:

A “banking holiday” is a Presidential Order (passed in 1933) used to completely shut down banks — without warning — to avoid everyone panicking, pulling their money out, and causing a complete financial apocalypse.

The entire banking world suddenly goes “black” and you won’t be able to view your balance… withdraw or deposit money… write checks… or even access your bank’s web page.

For how long?

Like Overstock Chairman said, it could be “2 days, or 2 weeks, or 2 MONTHS“!

So what can you do?

Immediately after a collapse and a federal “banking blackout”, cash is still going to be king (for a little while).

But if you don’t have it in your wallet, you’re NOT going to be able to go out and get it from your bank or ATM.

That’s why the super-wealthy always keep a stash of cold, hard cashola at home (in a safe) for emergencies.

If you have a fire-proof gun safe, that will work too (NOT a bank safe deposit box!)… and you should consider moving some of your savings into primarily $1 and $5 bills (stores won’t be able to make change as easily) rather than sitting in a no-interest checking account that you may never get access to once the SHTF.

Just stack those duckies up right next to your bricks of 9mm and get used to paying for groceries and other expenses with cash now as good practice.

But a word of warning here…

Don’t go crazy building “fat stacks” in your gun safe or tucked away in your freezer, because there’s something even more important (and more valuable) that this CEO said his company was planning for.

Here’s the continuation of the Overstock Chairman’s speech…

“We also happen to have 3 months of food supply for every employee [+ 1 additional family member] to live on during the crisis.”

First of all, how cool is it that a corporation — who sees the writing on the wall that our dollar is about to come crashing down — is preparing even to FEED their 1,500 employees and their families for at least 3 months?

Crazy, right? (And pretty damn smart!)

Overstock understands that when the economy collapses, food resupply lines will be severed and most people will be out of food within a matter of a few short days — as little as 3.

Grocery stores that haven’t been completely looted or sold out will skyrocket their prices and be forced to work on a “cash-only” basis.

In other words, the “mega-rich” aren’t just buying up yachts and real-estate.

They’re also investing in “survival food” for themselves and their employees.

What That Means For You:

The very best investment you can make right now is in long-term survival food — which is even more valuable than cash (or silver and gold coins) in an economic crisis.

Not only will you be able to feed yourself and your family while others are starving, but it will be the most valuable barter tool you’ll be able to use when no one else around you has a single dollar to their name.

But you know what ELSE the gazillionaires are doing?

They’re building “mega bunkers”!

In fact, it’s been reported that Bill Gates himself has an underground survival bunker in ALL of his homes.

He’s not the only one.

In fact, CNN recently reported that “luxury bunkers” are BIG BUSINESS.

These things have everything from swimming pools to nuclear blast doors.

They’re intended to let the richest among us ride out the collapse that they all know could be on the way — even if it’s just for a few days or weeks.

Bunker-building companies are reporting INSANE sales increases from the wealthy.

And they wouldn’t be spending their money on nuclear-hardened homes instead of Ferraris and, I don’t know, gold-plated toilets, if they weren’t really worried about what’s coming!

While your desperate neighbors take to the streets, looting and attacking each other for a few batteries and bottles of water…

…the “elites” will be sipping champagne, safe behind their impenetrable designer forts!

(At least, that’s what they THINK will happen.)

What That Means For You:

You don’t have to be one of the 1% “mega-rich” to prepare.

In fact, you don’t have to spend much money at ALL.

If you want to jump in on it, I’m giving a FREE workshop this week where I’ll show you the EXACT steps I’ve taken to prepare myself and my family for the same threats the wealthy know are headed our way…

…but I’ll show you how to do it even if you’re on a shoestring budget!

I’ll also explain to you — in just 4 simple steps that anyone can do — how to be even MORE prepared for ANY disaster, crisis, or collapse than these bunker-dwelling billionaires.

That’s because, while they’re blowing their money on fancy survival bunkers that aren’t necessary to get through a disaster, I’ll tell you about the specific “phases” of a crisis that I’ve seen as a soldier — phases that even the wealthiest “doomsday preppers” aren’t prepared for.

These “5 phases of survival” that I talk about in-depth in my online “survival masterclass” are things that MOST people, rich OR poor, are doing all wrong!

(There are only 200 seats available for the weekly free webinar, so to see it now, you might want to register — because I go in-depth into how to prepare for ALL the 5 survival phases at the SAME time in one simple step.

I also explain how to interpret the “no B.S. warning signs” that a collapse is coming — the signs that even some of the prepared “1 percent” don’t know to look out for.)

Look, I’m really not interested in the “rich or poor” thing.

I’m interested in encouraging you and your family to start making a plan NOW, no matter how much money you do or don’t have.

Bug-Out Survival: 4 Screw-Ups Even Experienced Preppers Make!

4 Doomsday Prepper Bugout Survival Mistakes

Jeff Anderson
Jeff Anderson, Editor

Let’s be honest: A lot of preppers think that bugging out will look like something out of Mad  Max… and THEY’LL be the heroes.

Well, the sad reality is that many preppers make a LOT of mistakes when moving from Point A to Point B in an emergency.

This isn’t like the movies…

…and if you screw up during high-threat vehicles ops in an emergency, you and your family could pay for it with your lives.

For that reason, you need to face the 4 biggest mistakes you and others like you might make during a survival crisis.

Bug-Out Survival: 4 Screw-Ups Even Experienced Preppers Make!

4 Doomsday Prepper Bugout Survival Mistakes
4 Doomsday Prepper Bugout Survival Mistakes

Without a doubt, the first mistake that preppers make when it come to bugging out is the most obvious…

1. Screwing Up The “Stay Or Go” Question

When it comes to survival, a lot of people INSTINCTIVELY want to bug out.

They’ve been putting together bug-out gear for just this moment for so long that they can practically taste it.

It makes intuitive sense to want to get out of Dodge when things go bad.

But if you bug out when you don’t really need to, you put yourself in a poor strategic position as far as long-term survival.

You put yourself out into that threat environment instead of home, “in the rear with your gear,” as they used to say in the military.

Whenever possible, you don’t want to bug out at ALL, because you’re only putting yourself in a more dangerous environment with only a small fraction of the supplies you’ve stockpiled.

2. It’s Time To Leave… But Where To Go?

Another way that preppers screw up the “stay or go” question is one you’ve heard me harp on before:

They don’t have a place to go TO when it come time to bug out.

If you just become a fleeing refugee, you’re going to be competing with all the other people out there clogging the roads and looking to survive.

You have to have a location in mind if you’re going to flee — preferably one where you have ALSO stockpiled supplies.

3. Failure To Rehearse

When it comes to bugging out, you have to have planned rehearsals.

You can’t just jump in the car or grab your backpack and walking stick and go.

If you think that you might end up in a situation where you’re going to have to bug out from your house to another location, whether that be a specific bug out retreat or a relative’s house, or some place that you’re going to go because your home location has become untenable, then you’re going to have to plan that in advance.

You’re going to have look at routes.

You may have to mitigate a threat when you’re moving.

You need to rehearse the move and do some drills, in case you get into trouble.

You’re going to have to time it, too.

Because if everybody’s on the road, and YOU get on the road, then you’re just going to be stuck in a traffic jam.

If you can arrange for advance warning, that is critical too.

If you can, make a call to move ahead of the rush.

Or you can develop  kind of partial plan, where you stay a little bit at home and then move after the rush is over.

There is judgment involved in all of that, and rehearsal with your family or survival group is critical.

4. Adopting The Wrong “Posture”

The final thing I think a lot of people make a mistake with is the profile, or what you might call POSTURE, that they adopt.

I think a lot of people, when they talk about these kind of end of the world type scenarios, these disasters, they automatically go to Mad Max.

They think they’re going to be driving around sticking out of sunroofs with firearms, or guns sticking out of windows like a Baghdad taxi.

You’ve got to adopt your posture or profile to the situation.

You might not have a full breakdown, and therefore you might be drawing a lot of attention to yourself if you get too aggressive.

There may still be authorities out there who are running checkpoints.

So you need to adopt a reasonable posture.

Consider all three of these critical mistakes, think through them, and plan for a collapse.

The preparation you do now will save your bacon later.

Prepping, Storage, & Stockpiling In Limited Spaces, Apartments, & Small Homes

“Most preppers are NUCKING FUTZ!”

If you ask me, that’s the message that television shows like “Doomsday Preppers” and others tried to send to the public, don’t you agree?

But hey… that’s the kind of sensational crap that sells advertising for the television networks, right?

In fact, I remember one episode of one of those shows that was particularly bad…

This woman lived in an apartment and was SCARED TO DEATH of what would happen to her if the excrement hit the oscillating atmosphere agitator.

Her apartment was FILLED from top to bottom with soda bottles of every size – all of them filled with tap water.

I think a lot of would-be preppers and even experienced survivalists think that this type of hoarding is their only option if they’re prepping in limited space, like an apartment.

But that’s absolutely FALSE!

At least, it’s false if you understand. . .

3 Tips For Prepping With Limited Storage Space

Prepping, Stockpiling, and Survival For Small Homes, Apartments, And Other Limited Spaces
Prepping With No Storage Space

One of the most common complaints I hear from preppers is about where to store all of their emergency food, water, medicine, and ammo.

I mean, who the hell has an endless chain of buried school buses in the back yard, or a warehouse worth of storage space in the attic?

No one. That’s who.

A LOT of people live in smaller homes, apartments, or even trailers and RVs and don’t have the space or moolah to build their own bat-cave of survival gear.

Hell… even those with what they think is PLENTY of storage might have trouble with long-term storage of supplies, because the bare necessities themselves take up a LOT of valuable space.

Your plan will change depending on your situation, of course.

For example, if you live near a reliable fresh water source, you may be stockpiling less water but investing more money in filtration systems.

No matter WHAT your situation, though, almost every prepared citizen asks him- or herself this question sooner or later:

“Where do I find more storage space?”

Well, HERE’S where…

1. In “Negative” Space

One way to fit more stuff into the same amount of space is to take advantage of “negative” space — the areas in between where things are now.

For example…

  • The space between the wall and a bookshelf or desk might be wide enough for you to fit a lockable file cabinet that instead holds cans of food stacked neatly on top of each other.
  • The space under a bed or even under a sofa could be used to store anything that will lay flat enough to go unnoticed.
  • Stackable totes and storage containers can be stacked up to take up less overall space.

These stackable plastic storage containers are a good example of eliminating negative space because they also allow you to force irregularly shaped items to fit in more neat “pockets.”

These storage containers can then be stacked on top of each other much more neatly, eliminating wasted area.

2. In The SAME Space You Have Now

The secret to fitting “20 pounds of sh*t in a 10 pound bag” has always been organization.

Some of you are old enough to remember the game “Tetris.”

In that game, you stack bricks of different shapes together, like puzzle pieces, to make full rows to score points (and make room for more rows).

Well, storing your survival gear is like a big ol’ game of Tetris.

You’ve got to find a way to fit everything together – like a puzzle – eliminating wasted space and fitting what you have in the smallest, most efficient “envelope” possible.

I guarantee, if you look at how your supplies are stored, you can find ways to make them…

  • Neater
  • More organized
  • Easier to find
  • More tightly stacked and grouped

Again… large plastic storage boxes are GREAT for making your gear more organized, modular, and helping you fit more into less space.

That brings me to. . .

3. In “Secret Hiding Spots” In Your Vehicle

OK, this is probably the biggest opportunity that people just don’t think about…

First of all, there are so many hidden open spaces in your vehicle, it will make your head spin. (Just ask any cop who’s had to search for drugs at a traffic stop!)

The most obvious places are in the trunk… glove box… and under the seats.

But there are even some “secret” places like inside the bottom of the seats… in the spare tire compartment… or even disguised storage boxes (one of my sneakiest tricks)!

The fact is, my vehicle is my PRIMARY storage location for my most critical survival gear… and right now I’m driving a tiny Mini Cooper!

(Um… you don’t have to snicker!)

You see, these supplies are the ones that will not only keep you and your family alive at home… but also if you’re ever forced to evacuate your home.

In fact, this is one of the “5 phases of survival” I talk about in-depth in my online “survival masterclass” that frankly, most people are doing all wrong!

Look, the bottom line is this…

Making a plan now, and organizing your supplies to support that plan, is a critical part of survival stockpiling and prepping – no matter how much space you do or don’t have!

Hopefully these tips will help you re-think your storage options and take the next step in better protecting yourself and your loved ones.

There are a lot more tips that can help you that, unfortunately, are more detailed than I can go into in just this one article.

However, if you’re interested in the RIGHT way to set up your survival plan and your supplies based on real-world scenarios, you can download a report about that right here.

This is something that ANYONE can follow to be prepared for ANY disaster, crisis, or attack — whether you live in a mansion, a small apartment, or even a camper or house boat.

There’s no reason not to get started — and get prepared — right now.

3 Mistakes People Make When Prepping (And How To Avoid Them)

He was prepared to survive for a year. . .

. . .and he was DEAD in less than a month!

You’ve probably never heard of David Austin, but what happened to him could happen to ANY prepper who makes certain CRITICAL mistakes.

David was 29 years old and determined to survive like his idol, Bear Grylls.

  • He’d taken a few courses on bushcraft.
  • He owned TONS of “survival gear.”
  • When he set out for the United Kingdom’s highest mainline station, snow was already falling. . . but he was prepared.

Or so he thought.

That’s why we need to talk about…

3 Mistakes People Make When Prepping
(And How To Avoid Them)

3 Biggest Bug-Out Mistakes Almost Every Prepper Makes
3 Mistakes People Make When Prepping (And How To Avoid Them)

Even expert survival school instructors said it wasn’t likely anyone could survive a winter outdoors in the Highlands while “living off the land.”

A month after he left for his “survival year,” Austin’s body was found by a track worker in a “mountain hut” in Corrour, Highland Perthshire.

He’d been lying there, dead, for several weeks.

An autopsy stated the official cause of death was hypothermia, but that’s NOT what caused his death.

No, David Austin died because he made “mistake number 2” of the three CRITICAL mistakes people make when prepping.

Make any ONE of these mistakes and you — and your family — could FAIL in your attempt to survive.

Prepping Mistake #1: OPSEC (Operational Security)

The first, and probably the worst mistake that people make when they’re prepping, has nothing to do with the actual preparations they make.

People like to talk.

They’ll talk about their hobbies to anybody who’ll listen.

That’s great if you’re talking about your kid’s soccer practice, or your model train collection.

It’s NOT so cool when you’re bragging to your next door neighbor about the case of MREs in your stockpile or the thousands of rounds of ammo you’ve got ready to go.

Right now, what you need to understand is that talking about your preps tells people that, in an emergency, YOU HAVE SUPPLIES THEY NEED.

That’s why you’ve got to keep your prepping plans under wraps.

Prepping Mistake #2: Focusing On Only One Disaster Scenario

THIS is what killed David Austin.

When he prepared to survive, he didn’t take into account all the scenarios he was going to face.

I guarantee you he thought about food.

He probably thought about what gear to bring, too.

But he never counted on just how bad the weather in the highlands might get.

I’m not picking on him.

It’s easy to get preoccupied with just one possible emergency.

It’s natural and advised to focus on the most common threat in your area.

If you live in California, what’s the most likely problem you’ll face?

Wildfires, right?

Then again, if you live in Florida, what’s it going to be?

Hurricanes, right?

Well, that’s fine, and you should be prepared for those things…

Even if you think where you live is very safe…

…and nothing ever happens there…

…These scenarios COULD and WILL affect you.

…There are actual 5 of what we call the “No BS Collapse Scenarios” that can affect EVERY CORNER of the country.

I realize some of them might not even be on your radar.

You’ve got to make sure your survival gear is up to the task for EVERY scenario you may face, though.

(More on that in a minute.)

Prepping Mistake #3: Focusing On Only One Phase Of Your Survival Plan

A disaster is a dynamic, fluid scenario.

It changes over time, and what you have to do to survive it will change, too.

Most people are only focused on one phase, like “surviving in place.”

Don’t get me wrong; your home is most likely going to be the best place for you to hunker down during most emergencies.

This is why people typically only focus on that one.

Even so called “expert preppers” are really only looking at one or two phases at most in their survival plan.

The problem is that there are actually 5 phases in total.

The details are too much to go into here.

Just know that it’s critical that you look into ALL the phases to be fully prepared.

If you’re just prepared for one phase, like surviving in place, what do you do when your home is just hours away from being under water?

What’s your plan if gangs of looters are standing on your front lawn getting ready to burn you out?

This brings into play the OTHER phases.

They might not be your first choice, but if you’re not prepared for them, you FAIL… and failure means NOT SURVIVING.

You’ve got to understand all those phases and how they affect each other.

It’s more involved than I can go into here.

You never know when a disaster is actually going to hit. . . and you don’t want to have to face your family after failing to account for everything that matters.

However, if you’re interested in the RIGHT way to set up your survival plan based on real-world scenarios, you can download a report about that right now.

This is something that ANYONE can follow to be prepared for ANY disaster, crisis, or attack — whether you’re a complete beginner, an experience prepper, or even a senior citizen living on a fixed income.
